§1. Requirements
- A Zoho Recruit account on a plan with API access, with administrator permission to install Marketplace extensions.
- A SmplyHyre account for your organization — sign up at smplyhyre.com if you don't have one.
- At least one job with an interview agent configured in SmplyHyre (job description, difficulty, duration, must-ask questions).
§2. Installing the extension
- Open the Zoho Marketplace listing for SmplyHyre for Zoho Recruit (or use the install link we shared with you).
- Click Install and sign in with a Zoho Recruit administrator account.
- Review and accept the requested permissions — the extension needs access to candidate records to write interview results back.
- Choose whether to enable it for all users or specific profiles, then confirm.
Installation takes under a minute. The SmplyHyre panel then appears on candidate records.
§3. Connecting your SmplyHyre account
- After installation, open the extension's Settings page in Zoho Recruit.
- Click Connect SmplyHyre and sign in with your organization's SmplyHyre admin account.
- Approve the connection. Authentication is handled per-organization via secure OAuth — there are no API keys to copy, store or rotate.
Once connected, your SmplyHyre jobs and interview agents become selectable from candidate records, and interview results start syncing back automatically.
§4. Fields the extension uses
The extension writes interview results into the following fields on the candidate record:

| AI Score | Overall AI evaluation score for the latest interview |
| AI Report URL | Link to the full SmplyHyre evaluation report (per-question scores, transcript, recording, proctoring flags) |
These fields are managed by the extension — avoid editing them manually, as the next sync will overwrite manual changes.
§5. Permissions & data handling
The extension reads basic candidate details (name, email, applied job) to create interview invitations, and writes interview results back to the candidate record. It does not read or modify unrelated modules.
Interview recordings, transcripts and evaluation reports are stored by SmplyHyre under your organization's account and retention settings — see our Data Retention Policy and Privacy Policy. Zoho Recruit stores only the score, status and report link.
§6. Disconnecting & uninstalling
- Disconnect: open the extension settings and disconnect the SmplyHyre account. Result syncing stops immediately; existing scores and report links remain on your candidate records.
- Uninstall: remove the extension from Zoho Recruit's Marketplace/extension settings. This revokes the extension's access to your Zoho data.
- Interview data held by SmplyHyre stays available in your SmplyHyre portal and can be exported or deleted per our retention policy.
